About the OpportunityThe Estimator is responsible for acquiring bid documents, obtaining applicable pricing from vendors/subcontractors, compiling an overall estimate, and submitting the quotation to the appropriate party(ies)as well as coordinating with the purchasing department and the project team for a smooth hand-off process as the project begins.

Qualifications:- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field of study.
- Minimum 3-5 yrs experience in the commercial industry.
- LEED accreditation a definite plus.
- Experience with processing Requests for Information, shop drawings, samples and general contractor correspondence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Background in on screen take-off or some type of estimating software.
- Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to understand/interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
- Must have excellent follow up skills, attention to detail.
- Review and evaluates requests for Estimates
- Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.
- Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to be bid.
- Executes take-offs of construction documents.
- Inputs take-offs into computer software.
- Obtains pricing for materials and works closely with the purchasing department.
- Prepares cost analysis of material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
- Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, government requirements, etc.
- Attends on site meetings as required.
- Gathers and Analyzes complex or diverse information skillfully.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and communicates effectively with the project team members and the purchasing department.
- Promotes quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisions.
- Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
- Informs director of Operations and project team members of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
