Commercial Roofing Estimator
This position will be responsible for all commercial estimating activities
and report directly to the company President. The position requires a
primary focus/skill in selling Commercial Flat and Steep Slope roofing.
Candidate will have strong experience and skill in TPO, EPDM, Mod. Bit.,
BUR and tapered systems. Typical projects include office buildings, condominiums,
and all types of commercial structures.
Position requires:
- Inside and outside sales techniques
- Provide customers with quotes
- Daily use of Microsoft computer software
- Maintain customer relations and develop new accounts
- Represent company to current and potential customers
- Responsible for securing contracts
- Daily interaction with field, administrative, and management personnel
- Perform a detailed quantity survey of all items in the scope of work
- Analyze project bid documents to determine materials of construction
- Solicit material and other pricing by telephone, letters, facsimiles,
and e-mails
- Accurately compile all quantity and pricing information
- Make detailed take-offs from plans and specs information
- Attend meetings with owners, upper management and others as required
- Willingness to work in team environment and be mentored
- Additional responsibilities as required
Job requirements:
- 5+ years construction experience in General Commercial Estimating
- Able to demonstrate solid organizational and management skills
- Stable employment background and work history
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Mathematical skills a must
- Outside sales in construction related industry
- Self motivated
The ideal candidate will be groomed to be manager of the department.
