Our skilled roof technicians have been trained in the installation and repair of all types of roofing materials. As roofing experts, we routinely diagnose difficult roof problems and develop customized solutions for homes and businesses. Each job is tailored to maximize the roof system's performance and ensure that the roof will last a long time.

What sets Katchmark apart from other roofing companies is our GAF 5-Part Roof System:
1.

Ice and Water Leak Barrier. Most companies only offer ice and water barriers as an option. Katchmark includes an Ice and Water Leak Barrier in all of our homes. It is our standard practice to install the Weather Watch Ice and Water Barrier. Weather Watch provides extra protection at vulnerable areas like eaves, valleys, and major roof penetrations, like skylights and chimneys, to provide ultimate protection from snow and ice.

2.

30 Pound Felt. Most other companies install only 15 pound felt. 30 Pound Felt provides more protection than 15 pound felt and lays flatter for a more beautiful roof.

3.

Quality Shingles. We only install shingles that have been rated for quality from large, well-known manufacturers with standard warranties.

4.

Effective Attic Ventilation. Poor attic ventilation can ruin your insulation and can impact the longevity of your entire home. We install the proper ventilation products, customized to your specific home, which will allow for a continual flow of outside air through the attic, protecting the efficiency of the insulation and helping to lower temperatures in the living space. Our attic vents are protected with a thick mesh sheathing which allows ventilation yet protects from insects and rodents.

5.

Ridge Cap Shingles. Most companies will install aluminum ridge vents without any Ridge Cap Shingles. We feel that the piece of aluminum looks cheap and unsightly. All of our ridge vents are covered with Ridge Cap Shingles for a more uniform look while providing additional leak protection.

Roofing Materials

Katchmark prides itself on being upfront and honest with our customers. A lot of other companies will replace your roof without exploring roofing options with the homeowner. We've included a comprehensive list of common roofing materials that we work with. This list does not represent the full catalog of materials we can provide but instead acts as a general guide to help you determine your roofing needs.

There is a handsome selection of natural colors, textures and sizes. Whatever your choice, your slate roof will be one of a kind.

Metal Roofing

A metal roofing system exemplifies how innovative thinking can use a proven product in an entirely new way. Metal is synonymous with strength and toughness. But as a roofing material, strength is only one of the advantages of metal. Thanks to innovation, this same durable material has been improved, modified and applied in a new way to meet the needs of the roofing industry. Metal roofing is surprisingly affordable due to the fact that a Metal roof is a permanent one; the life-cycle costs are substantially lower than conventional materials. For aesthetics, metal comes in a variety of styles and colors to fit your personal preference. Katchmark Construction, Inc. uses Sentriclad metal, which is long-lasting, lightweight, quiet, and energy efficient.

Advantages of a Metal Roof:
  • Doesn't deteriorate, crack, split, break, burn or blow off
  • Engineered for strength from 100% metal
  • Special coating process resists dirt and environmental aging
  • Lightweight: less than 1/3 the weight of asphalt
  • Environmentally correct - made from up to 50% recycled material and is 100% recyclable
  • Energy efficient
  • Many styles, colors and finishes to choose from
  • Increases your home's value

Copper

Copper, rooted in centuries of use, will not rust, has no finish to scratch or peel, is soft enough to easily manipulate and weathers naturally to a beautiful, natural green patina. Although considerably more expensive than aluminum and steel, copper is the metal of choice for buildings with a long design life. Copper is a popular option for historic applications due to its timeless beauty. Copper is also a popular choice for bay window roof and dormer roof applications.

Katchmark's in-house copper roofing installers are among the best in the industry. Katchmark is able to accommodate any custom copper welding job. No job is too complicated. A welded copper roof will never fail when installed correctly. A copper roof installed by Katchmark will last a lifetime and get progressively more beautiful as it ages.

Seam steel roofing is available with copper colored powder-coated paint finishes. For those who want the color of copper that will not change with age, this is a good choice.

Asbestos Removal

In 1977, a rare cancer of the intestinal tract and lungs was found to be linked to the use of asbestos as a building material in many residential homes. When the Environmental Protection Agency discovered this, they began restricting its use.

Though the EPA restricted its use in the 1970s and began a 10-year phase-out of products containing asbestos in 1986, people living in homes and using products built earlier are understandably concerned. Katchmark works with certified asbestos abatement companies. We've removed asbestos materials on various sized jobs, from smaller homes to large-scale projects in government buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, industrial facilities and more.

Insulation

Katchmark is committed to bringing cost-effective energy saving ideas to homeowners and one of the best and easiest ways is with fiberglass insulation. Katchmark uses only the best with Owens Corning AttiCat Blown-In Insulation System.

Fiberglass insulation works by trapping air within tiny pockets in the fiberglass to resist the transfer of heat, so it doesn’t move in or out of the house.

The benefits of fiberglass insulation for homeowners:
  • Increase in energy efficiency
  • Decrease in carbon footprint
  • Increases the life of shingles
  • Prevents the build-up of moisture in attics

All of this adds up to huge savings in energy costs for homeowners but also benefits your community by reducing energy consumption.
